Welcome to For This Season!
I am a stay at home mom to three little boys striving to live every day on purpose. I’ve held many different roles through out my life, but in this current season I am a wife and mom.
I blog about my journey to make intentional choices to create the life we desire for our family. Specifically, I write about homeschooling, parenting, dairy allergies, and recipes. I also journal the small parts of life with three boys, the random things that will never have a category.
Our Homeschool Adventures
I began “homeschooling” when Bebop was just over 2 years old with the primary goal of keeping him out of trouble. 3 years later, he is able to read on his own and loves learning! I’m currently planning to start our first real year of homeschooling with Kindergarten in the fall. Magoo started Montessori style tot school as soon as he could crawl across the room to steal his big brother’s toys. Pretty soon Doodad will be crawling as well and my two little boys will have play based learning for several more years.
I try my best to parent intentionally. I prepare activities and environments that allow my children to play and learn and encouraging age appropriate independence. Life with three boys easily gets loud, messy and sometimes overwhelming. I consider myself the story keeper and do not post things that will embarrass my children when they are older. After applying that filter, I do my best to show real life.
Dairy Free Living
When Magoo was 2 months old we discovered he was allergic to milk. Since then our family has been (mostly) dairy free. Doodad is also allergic to milk and I am able to breastfeed by eliminating all dairy from my diet. Over the past 2 years, I’ve learned a new style of cooking and how to balance our nutritional needs without any dairy products. I’m posting my best tips and recipes, all on this blog are currently dairy free (many are soy free as well). As Doodad starts on solid food over the next few months, I will not only document the journey, but also write a baby food cookbook using a whole foods approach.
The Unplanned Moments
I’m a planner. (actually, I’m an over-planner…) My biggest challenge as a mom is not only accept but embrace the unplanned spontaneous moments.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by and read about this season of my life.
