As we work our way through the alphabet this year, I really want to incorporate both single letter and whole alphabet activities. One thing missing from my file box of activities that I think Magoo would really enjoy is simple letter outlines. I wasn’t able to find exactly what I wanted, so I made a set of my own. This free printable includes both upper and lowercase letters.
I printed out two sets of each letter and filed them with their respective letter. We have pulled out the letter sheets almost every day to use along with our letter cans and tot trays. As you can see above, we used the letter outlines to sort objects by beginning sound. After we did this, Magoo colored the letters with crayons (not pictured).
I needed a quick activity for Magoo while I was working with Bebop, so we added the letter A to our winter sensory tub. Magoo used the sparkly pompoms to fill in the uppercase A.
A week later, Magoo filled in the letter B with blocks without being prompted!
In our letter B wrap up, I showed how we painted with spiky balls. After the B dried, we cut it out and glued it to paper. Magoo asks almost every day to use glue, so he was extremely excited for this activity. After we finished with the B, Magoo continued to cut apart the extra paper to make a college. Normally Magoo is not interested in fine motor skills, so his excitement over this particular activity was very encouraging to me.
I hope you enjoy these letters as much as we do! Click Here to download the Alphabet Outlines.
