Sunday, June 17 – A Backyard Visitor

I have seen several chipmunks in our yard. About a week ago, one particular chipmunk was teasing our cat, Ozzy. The little creature would crouch down in the grass for a few minutes, then pop his head up and wiggle it at the cat. Later that day we found a dead chipmunk near the back door. It’s not the one posted in this picture, but I have a feeling if the chipmunks keep up their antics, there will be more trophies left on the back porch.

Monday, June 18 – Packing Paper

The ridiculous amount of packing paper is by far the worst part of the unpacking process. We usually throw the paper into a large pile somewhere in the house and later fold the paper and put it in a box. It may see a little silly to take so much care with a bunch of paper we plan to give or throw away, but it takes up SO much room if left crumpled. We’ve also found a few small items still wrapped in paper that would have gone missing if just thrown out. I was trying to finished folding the paper in the living room and the boys were helping. Magoo figured out pretty quickly not to grab the folded paper.

Bebop was singing and dancing around the room. It was hard to get a picture because he was moving so quickly.

Tuesday, June 19 – The Backyard

A favorite place of both boys. Magoo usually tries to sneak out first thing when I let the cat out in the mornings.

Wednesday, June 20 – First Popsicle

Normally, I’m a fan of the heat. I grew up the desert and love the hot days. Being pregnant is a whole different story. We were out running errands in the crazy heat and I gave in a bought popsicles loaded with sugar to help us cool off. We ate them at a small park close to the store instead of waiting until we got home. This was Magoo’s first popsicle and he loved it.

Bebop asked for a second one as soon as he finished the first! Homemade popsicles will be a staple this summer, especially if this crazy heat wave keeps up.

Thursday, June 21 – Movie Time

I don’t let the boys watch much TV. Bebop sometimes gets a show during quiet time, and Magoo watches a movie about once a week on family movie night. On Thursday, I needed to finish unpacking enough boxes to find the swimsuits and pack for our trip, so I let the boys watch a movie right after breakfast. They both thought it was great and I got so much work done!

Friday, June 22 – Road Trip

Cheerful boys at 5 am! We drove to Virginia to meet up with some family for the weekend.

We stopped at Cabelas for lunch. We have Cabelas credit cards that earn store points, so we used some of our points to get a few things for everyone. We’ve purchased most of our camping and quite a bit of Jared’s hiking gear for “free” with store points. Its been a great deal for our family. Bebop loves his new life vest and didn’t take it off until we left the store. Magoo loved the stuffed animals, and would roar at them all.

Saturday, June 23 – Busch Gardens Williamsburg
We spent the day with my brother, Ben and his wife, Bridget, my cousin, Kevin, his wife Hannah, and their girls S and C at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. We took a ton of pictures, but I couldn’t pick a favorite for Project 365. You’ll have to wait a day or two for the next post to see them all.
