We’ve been homeowners for less than 24 hours and managed to lock ourselves out of the house. I wonder if that’s a record. Our house was built in the 60’s and later had a garage added with a breezeway between the two buildings. The breezeway, garage, and house doors all have different keys. I grabbed the keys to the breezeway door but not the others. Jared locked the main house door thinking I had all the keys. Luckily we left the bathroom window unlocked. The window is a little small for Jared or me to crawl through, so Bebop got the privilege. Jared picked him up and lowered him him into the bathroom.

Do you see Ozzy leaping out of the window? As Bebop went in, he came out. We had planned to keep him inside for a few days to learn this is his new house, but he was more than ready to explore the new neighborhood.

Bebop easily made it through the window and let us in the house. The hero of the day!

We are definitely getting new locks for all the doors so we only have to keep track of one key. We spent about two hours out running errands, and it rained the entire time. We came home to a wet cat waiting on the doorstep, more than ready to spend the rest of the day inside.
