I took this picture at 9:38pm. Bedtime is normally 7:30. Magoo crawled into bed with a book ready to read as soon ans I put pajamas on him. This little guy is ready for bed!

February 17 – Family Traditions

Have you ever wondered what 18 rolls of toilet paper looks like wrapped around a car? Now you know:

This is a family tradition among the cousins on my Dad’s side of the family that started 14 years ago. Ben is the last in our generation to get married, so we decided to decorate his (actually Bridget’s) car a few nights early to be sure we would get the chance. Now we can all enjoy the wedding weekend.

February 16 – NASA

image

On our way to Birmingham, we stopped at the NASA space center in Huntsville. Jared and I have seen most of what was displayed previously, mostly at the Smithsonian in DC. It was a nice place to stop and give the boys a chance to walk around. The best part, especially for a Magoo, was the Mars play area. They took turns driving the shuttle and pushing all the buttons.

February 15 – Two Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed

image

We are half way on our road trip to Ben and Bridget’s wedding. As soon as we checked into the hotel, both boys headed streight for the bed. Magoo started jumping right away. Bebop didn’t believe me at first when I told him he could jump on the bed for 5 mintues. (They are not allowed to jump on the bedsat home.) We had a short drive today and both boys did great. We left right at nap time, and both slept about 2 hours. We didn’t even have to pull out the DVD player. Another short day tomorrow, then three days to hang with family.

February 13 – Just Chillin’

image

We picked up Bebop’s tux for Uncle Ben’s wedding this afternoon. Magoo spent at least 5 miutes struggling to climb into these chairs and was so proud of himself when he finally made it up there. While Bebop tried on the tux, Magoo was content to lounge and observe the store.

February 12 – New Freedom

image

Magoo has gained the skill and cofidence when walking to carry large items. This new freedom provides endless entertainment both for Magoo and everyone watching him. Occasionally he carries around toys, like in the above picture, but prefers the biggest items he can find. When I’m cooking, Magoo often starts to empty all the cupboard and build towers with my baking dishes. This new past time has forced me to start spring cleaning, as Magoo digs treasure out of every corner in the house.

February 11 – Musical Rooms

image

Today we switched around furniture in the boys bedrooms. Both beds are in the smaller room, now called the bedroom. Both dressers and all the toys are inthe larger room, now called the play room. We would like to get bunk beds after we move, so this is a test to see how well it works. So far, both boys like the arrangement. The play room is not completely organized yet, but there is a nice open space for the boys to spread out.
